— Milwaukee Ultimate is excited to announce the return of the USA Ultimate Division I and Division III College Championships to Southeastern Wisconsin. Teams will compete for the title of National Champion at Uihlein Soccer Park in Milwaukee during the three-day tournament.
The D-III tournament will take place on May 21-23, returning to Milwaukee for the first time since 2013. The D-I tournament will take place the following weekend, over Memorial Day, from May 27-30, its third time occurring in Milwaukee since 2015 and 2018.
“Milwaukee Ultimate is very excited to host this year’s D-III and D-I tournaments,” said tournament director and Milwaukee Ultimate president Scott Severson. “This is the pinnacle of college ultimate and to be able to host not one, but two tournaments is an incredible honor and challenge. We cannot wait to host the best of the best college athletes, strive to creating the best college nationals experience we can and create memories for all of the competing student-athletes. We want to showcase the beauty of ultimate frisbee and share our sport with everyone.”
Milwaukee Ultimate and Sports Milwaukee will both host the tournaments as they welcome over 72 teams through both divisions.
The breakdown of teams is as follows:
- 32 Division III teams
- 16 in the Men’s Division
- 16 in the Women’s Division
- 40 Division I teams
- 20 in the Men’s Division
- 20 in the Women’s Division
The D-I Championships will be covered by ESPN, as the men’s and women’s championship games take place on ESPNU with semifinal games taking place on ESPN3, according to USA Ultimate.
USA Ultimate and the Color of Ultimate will be hosting an exhibition game on Monday, May 30 at Uihlein Soccer Park to highlight current college players of color, before the D-I finals.
