1. Mobile Bike Repair Clinic: Monday, June 27
Bring your bicycle for minor repairs such as new inner tubes or brake adjustments, free of charge, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, June 27 outside the Mitchell Street Branch of the Milwaukee Public Library, 906 W. Historic Mitchell St. Mechanics from the Wisconsin Bike Federation will provide tips and tricks to keep your bike in good condition. In case of inclement weather, the program will be canceled. Presented in English and Spanish.
2. Housing survey training in Lindsay Heights: Tuesday, June 28
Housing survey training for Lindsay Heights residents will take place from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. Tuesday, June 28 at the Innovation Wellness Commons, 1617 W. North Ave. Residents will be compensated for their time at $15 per hour. The event is sponsored by Walnut Way Conservation Corp and Milwaukee Community Land Trust. Register here. 3. Â Wild Wednesdays at Hawthorn Glen: Bats: Wednesday, June 29
Learn all about bats and how to install bat houses in your backyard at this family-friendly event for ages 6 and up. The talk runs from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29 at Hawthorn Glen Outdoor Education Center, 1130 N. 60th St.
4. Burnham Playfield ribbon-cutting ceremony: Wednesday, June 29
Burnham Playfield has been renovated and will be reopening. The ribbon-cutting ceremony takes place at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29 at 1755 S. 32nd St. More information on the renovations, as well as the ceremony, can be found here.
5. Homebuying Workshop: Wednesday, June 29
Watch this free webinar via Zoom if you’re interested in buying a home. The discussion, which takes place from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 29, will walk you through the home-purchase process, guided by a homeownership specialist, a Realtor, a lender and the City of Milwaukee. BONUS: Washington Park Playground Storytime, Tuesday, June 28
The Milwaukee Public Library invites you to come to Washington Park Playground, 1859 N. 40 St. (across the street from the Washington Park Branch), for story time, featuring books, songs, rhymes, and bubbles. The event begins at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 28. In case of inclement weather, the program may move inside the library.
