1. Summer Vibes on Villard: Wednesday, July 13 and every Wednesday through Aug. 17

The weekly block party and local band showcase, “Summer Vibes on Villard,” begins at 6 p.m. Wednesday, July 13 at 5151 N. 35th St. The event is free to attend. More information here.

2. Vecinos con Poder: City Budget 101:Wednesday, July 13

Learn more about the city budget and how to participate in the process in this Spanish and English workshop from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 13 at Ascension Lutheran Church, located at 1236 S. Layton Blvd. More information here.

3. Harambee Babies Unite: Thursday, July 14

National Coalition for Healthy Black Families hosts this opportunity to relax, discuss and “center those affected by racial reproductive disparities and those who work directly to change the status quo.” The event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 14 at Valor Creative Collective, located at 128 E. Burleigh St.

4. UCC benefit happy hour: Thursday, July 14

All proceeds go to United Community Center schools starting at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 14 at Indeed Brewing Company, located at 530 S. 2nd St. More information here.

5. North Side and South Side drive-thru job fairs: Thursday, July 14

Get leads on jobs with over 60 employers at the Common Council’s Drive-thru Job Fair from noon to 4 p.m. Thursday, July 14 at the following locations:

Employ Milwaukee parking lot: 2342 N. 27th St.

Ross IES parking lot: 7800 W. Brown Deer Rd.

Basilica of St. Josaphat parking lot: 2333 S. 6th St.

BONUS: Bastille Days West: Thursday, July 14

Bastille Days moves to the West Side for the first time. Experience French music, food and culture between 4 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Thursday, July 14 on West Vliet Street between N. 57th Street and N. 60th Street.
