Northwestern Mutual, one of Milwaukee’s most respected companies, will be the presenting sponsor of Greater Milwaukee Urban League’s 37th Annual Black and White Ball, Focused on The Future. The event takes place Saturday, November 5, 2022, at the Wisconsin Center.

The Black and White Ball is Greater Milwaukee Urban League’s largest fundraiser of the year. Money raised during the event helps support education, employment, and advocacy programs throughout the year.

“The Black & White Ball is a fun and fulfilling event for people who care deeply about fostering racial wealth equity in our hometown,” said John Schlifske, Northwestern Mutual chairman, president and CEO. “At Northwestern Mutual, we are committed to building Black opportunity and prosperity, and we take great pride in working alongside the Greater Milwaukee Urban League to drive that work forward and create lasting change in our community.”

Founded in 1919, Greater Milwaukee Urban League is one of the oldest National Urban League affiliates in the country and one of the oldest civil rights organizations in Wisconsin. GMUL offers programs that provide educational support, employment resources, and advocacy work in many areas including health and voter education.

“We appreciate the generous support of Northwestern Mutual,” stated GMUL president and CEO Dr. Eve M. Hall. “Northwestern Mutual is a long time supporter of GMUL. Working together, we will continue to empower communities and change lives in Milwaukee.”

One of the highlights of the Ball will be the featured entertainer. This year, Milwaukee’s own Eric Benét will provide a special live performance.

Ticket and sponsorship information can be found at tmul.org by clicking on the Black and White Ball link. Both in-person and virtual tickets are available.
