The Feb. 21 primary election includes races for Wisconsin Supreme Court, and possibly local judges and alderpeople, depending on where you live. The top two candidates from each race will continue to the general election on Tuesday, April 4.

2. Get advice on starting a restaurant business: Tuesday, Feb. 7

The Incubator Kitchen Entrepreneur Program offered by the Turning Tables Tavern and Eatery is geared toward helping those interested in starting a restaurant to get the expertise on kitchen operations, staffing, business development and other aspects of starting a business. Those interested in starting a restaurant can attend an orientation for the program from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at the Turning Tables Tavern and Eatery, located at 1034 N. “HOOPS” is a portrait project by Milwaukee-based multidisciplinary artist Nicole Acosta that documents the cultural significance of hoop earrings to Black, Indigenous and people of color through portraits and personal stories from more than 60 people from Milwaukee, Chicago, Brooklyn and Los Angeles. There is a gallery exhibition featuring these photos and stories at the MARN ART + CULTURE HUB, and an upcoming play by the Milwaukee Chamber Theatre adapted from the portrait project.

You can hear a script reading by actors in the play at the “HOOPS” gallery exhibition. This script reading runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at the MARN ART + CULTURE HUB, located at 191 N. Broadway.

4. ‘The Harlem Renaissance’ play for youths: begins Wednesday, Feb. 8
