1. Early voting: all week
Early voting for the April 4 general election will continue through Saturday, April 1. There are several positions on the ballot, including aldermanic races, school board races as well as state and local judicial contests. You can find early voting times and locations here.

2. Harambee: What do you want public art to look like? Wednesday, March 29
Riverworks Development Corporation is creating a guide for curating creative art spaces in Harambee and nearby neighborhoods and is looking for feedback on ideas for public art. The event runs from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29 at Riverworks Lofts, located at 3372 N. Holton St.
3. Lunch and bandana decorating for Farmworker Awareness Week: Wednesday, March 29
In recognition of Farmworker Awareness Week, the UMOS Latina Resource Center is hosting two events to support farmworkers on Wednesday, March 29. The first event is a lunch-and-learn program titled “The Struggles of the Hands That Feed Us” from noon to 2 p.m. at UMOS, located at 2701 S. Chase Ave. The second is a bandana decorating party and tour of UMOS from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., also at 2701 S. Chase Ave. You can RSVP here.
Attendees are encouraged to donate a new or gently used long-sleeved shirt that will be given to farmworkers at UMOS’ outreach events.
4. Information on improving birth outcomes: Thursday, March 30
As part of Community Doula Week, the African American Breastfeeding Network is hosting this information session for new or expecting parents as well as birth workers and health professionals. The information session takes place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 30 at 3353 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Drive.
5. Safe & Sound meet and greet: Thursday, March 30
Meet your neighbors and the Safe & Sound team at this neighborhood event at Safe & Sound’s office just north of Sherman Park. Light refreshments will be served. The meeting takes place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 30 at 4422 W. Leon Terrace Ave.
