It’s Monday in Milwaukee, and here are some things we think you should know about. If you would like your event to be considered for this column, please submit your news by clicking here at least two weeks in advance.

Forget Everything And Run, or F.E.A.R., helps you live an active lifestyle while making new friends. The first run of the season is on Tuesday. (NNS file photo by Ana Martinez-Ortiz)

1. Forget Everything And Run (F.E.A.R.) new season: Tuesday, April 11

Forget Everything And Run, or F.E.A.R., is a diverse run crew organized by Social X MKE that aims to promote healthy lifestyles and build relationships with like-minded Milwaukeeans. This is a recurring event with runs occurring throughout the summer, but the new season kicks off at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11 starting at Mobay Cafe, located at 1022 S. 1st St. There will be a post-run party with a happy hour and a live DJ. 2. Coffee with Alderwoman Zamarripa: Thursday, April 13

Alderwoman JoCasta Zamarripa invites residents of the 8th Aldermanic District (primarily near South Side and Menomonee Valley west of South 21st Street) for an evening of coffee, pan dulce, conversations and games. The event takes place from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 13 at Ascension Lutheran Church, located at 1236 S. Layton Blvd.

3. Walk and connect with South Side neighbors: Thursday, April 13

Lideres por la Salud and partners have organized a free community walk to help you warm up with the weather and connect with your neighbors. The walk takes place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. this Thursday, April 13, beginning and ending at Kosciuszko Park (Kozy Park) at the intersection of South 7th and West Grant streets.

4. Harambee quality-of-life feedback session: Thursday, April 13

If you live in Harambee, you’re invited to this series of virtual feedback sessions on how to improve the quality of life in your neighborhood. You will receive $25 for each session you attend, plus an extra $10 if you bring a neighbor. This week’s session is the fifth and final session and runs from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, April 13 online via Zoom.

5. Application deadline to submit ideas to better Milwaukee parks: Friday, April 14

The Milwaukee Parks Foundation is seeking applications from groups with strong community ties, especially grassroots organizations, to submit their project ideas that “meaningfully serve their park and community.” The application deadline is Friday, April 14. Multiple ideas will be funded, with grants available from $500 to $10,000.
