1. Presentation on  missing and murdered Indigenous people: Wednesday, May 31

Public safety responder Monte Fronk is an Indigenous father spreading awareness for missing and murdered Indigenous people. His daughter, Nada Fronk, was among those murdered. His presentation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 31 at the Gerald Ignace Indian Health Center, 930 W. Historic Mitchell St, on the second floor.  More information here.

2. Information session on suppliers diversity certification: Wednesday, May 31

The Ambition Center MKE is providing business owners with an information session at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31. Owners will have the opportunity to learn about obtaining a suppliers diversity certification to secure contracts and other benefits in the future. This will take place at the Ambition Center MKE, 530 E. Vienna Ave. and will be streamed live. More information and a livestream link here.

3. “Clippers and Cops: Atlanta Meets Milwaukee”: Wednesday, May 31

Clippers and Cops of Atlanta is coming to Milwaukee to connect with the community. Clippers and Cops is a community engagement program that seeks to create a  dialogue between law enforcement and the community.

A forum on “Bridging the gap between police and community” will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 31 at Gee’s Clippers Barber and Beauty Salon, 2200 N. Martin Luther King Drive.

There will be free haircuts (ages 12-21), light refreshments and giveaways.

The Milwaukee Christian Center,  Ambrose Place MKE, Safe & Sound and City of Milwaukee Office of Violence Prevention are collaborating on the event.

4. “The Tasty Roll Bike Ride” in Lindsay Heights: Thursday, June 1

Red Bike & Green-Milwaukee, a group of cyclists, gathers for a bike ride to encourage quality sustainable development for Black and Brown people. Beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, riders will depart from Taste of Lindsay Heights on 1617 W. North Ave. The ride ends at 7 p.m. More information here.

5. “Under the Stars” movie night: Friday, June 2

Grab a blanket, a friend or family member as Martin Drive Neighborhood kicks off its free outdoor movie night for residents on Friday, June 2 from 8:45 p.m. to 11 p.m. Families will watch “Puss in Boots: The Last Wish” in the Martin Drive Community Gardens and Pavilion, 1335 N. 46th St.  More information here.
