1. Community Game Night: Wednesday, Sept. 6
The Norwood Neighborhood Community Game Night will take place at the Sherman Perk Coffee Shop, 4924 W. Roosevelt Drive, on Wednesday, Sept. 6 from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The featured games will include Azul and Sagrada. More information here.
2. “Pink Hustle Business Series”: Wednesday, Sept. 6
The Sherman Phoenix Foundation is hosting its “Pink Hustle Business Series,” where you will learn what it takes to grow your business and strategize your finances. The free event takes place at the Sherman Phoenix, 3536 W. Fond Du Lac Ave., on Wednesday, Sept. 6 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. More information here.
3. Home to Stay Re-Entry Resource and Job Fair: Wednesday, Sept. 6
The Home to Stay Re-Entry Resource and Job Fair takes place the first Wednesday of the month. Although the general public is welcome, the job fair focuses on those in the justice system, those re-entering the community after incarceration and their families. The event will take place Wednesday, Sept. 6 from noon to 2 p.m. at Partners in Hope, 324 W. North Ave. Employment opportunities, housing services, on-spot interviews and more will occur. 4. Give your insights on the future of affordable homeownership: Wednesday, Sept. 6
The Community Development Alliance and its partners invite residents to plan for the future of quality, affordable homeownership in Milwaukee on Wednesday, Sept. 6 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Gather at Deer District, 333 W. Juneau Ave. More information here.
5. Free Book Fair: Friday, Sept. 8
Come to Kosciuszko Park, 2201 S. 7th St., on Friday, Sept. 8 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. for Milwaukee’s biggest free library. The event is hosted by Literary Services of Milwaukee. There will be free books for all ages along with other activities such as face painting for children. Resource tables and the Milwaukee Children’s Museum Wonder Wagon will also be present.
