1. Grand Opening Bash: Friday, Sept. 22 through Sunday, Sept. 24

Who’s on Layton is a sports bar opening its second location at 512 W. Layton Ave. It  will be hosting a grand opening from Friday, Sept. 22 to Sunday, Sept. 24. More information here.

2. Valley Week: Saturday, Sept. 23 through Saturday, Sept. 30

Menomonee River’s Valley Week begins Saturday, Sept. 23 and goes through Saturday, Sept.  30. Free community events include a public-art walking tour, breakfast pizza, electronics recycling and kids story hiking. 3. “Rock Da Block”: Saturday, Sept. 23

Dream Team United presents “Rock Da Block” on Saturday, Sept. 23 with free groceries, a cookout and resources from noon to 5 p.m. A petting zoo, bounce house and face painting will also be there to keep children entertained during this event between North 35th and West Center streets. 4. Bean Plant Block Party: Sunday, Sept. 24

Anodyne Coffee Roasting Co. in Walker’s Point hosts its second annual Bean Plant Block Party on Sunday, Sept. 24 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at 224 W. Bruce St. This free event is for everyone to enjoy skate ramps, food trucks, coffee and other festivities. More information here.

5. MPD Open House: Sunday, Sept. 24

The 14th annual open house for Milwaukee’s Police Department’s District Two is Sunday, Sept. 24 from noon to 3 p.m. at 245 W. Lincoln Ave. The event features a meet-and-greet with law enforcement, a tour of the station, free haircuts and more. More information here.
