1. Garden Homes Chess Club: Tuesday, Nov. 14
Chess players of all skill levels are invited to the Garden Homes Chess Club from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at the Milwaukee Public Library Atkinson Branch,1960 W. Atkinson Ave.
2. Coffee Connection: Tuesday, Nov. 14
BizStarts is a business development program that supports entrepreneurs. BizStarts will host its November Coffee Connections from 8:15 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14 at 161 S. First St. in the Walker’s Point neighborhood. The purpose is to promote diversity and networking in the area. Coffee and refreshments will also be provided. More information here.
3. Employ Milwaukee Resource Table: Tuesday, Nov. 14
From noon to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14, Employ Milwaukee will have a resource table at the Milwaukee Public Library Mitchell Street Branch, 906 W. Historic Mitchell St. This is your chance to explore career opportunities, training programs and more.
4. Open Gym: Wednesday, Nov. 15
T. Herro Foundation is collaborating with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee to provide free open gym sessions every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Mary Ryan Boys & Girls Club at 3000 N. Sherman Blvd. The next session is Wednesday, Nov. 15 for basketball players who are 13 and up. More information here.
5. Community Closet Giveaway: Thursday, Nov. 16
The Hmong American Friendship Association will give away donated clothing at its next closet giveaway from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 3824 W. Vliet St. More information here.
