1. Female Veteran Diva Day: Friday, Dec. 1

The Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center is hosting a “Diva Day” event for female veterans from 10 a.m. to noon on Friday, Dec. 1. at 5000 W. National Ave. The event will include refreshments, free items, makeup demonstrations and more. More information here.

2. Coffee, Tea and Donuts with a Librarian: Friday, Dec. 1

Meet a librarian over coffee, tea and donuts to discuss books of your interests from 10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 1 at the Milwaukee Public Library Center Street Branch, 2727 W. Fond du Lac Ave.  More information here.

3. “Winter Jam”: Friday, Dec. 1

Spend some time at the Youth Forward Milwaukee “Winter Jam” from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 1 at Nō Studios, 1037 W. McKinley Ave. The event will feature food, music, raffles and youth vendors. More information here.

4. Dontre’s 10th Anniversary Planning Meeting: Saturday, Dec. 2

Participate in a meeting to create committees to address the 10th anniversary of Dontre Hamilton, who was killed by a police officer at Red Arrow Park in Milwaukee. The meeting will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2 at Progressive Baptist Church, 8324 W. Keefe Ave. The anniversary will also honor those who have lost their lives to violence in Milwaukee. More information here.

5. Teen and Guardian Photography Class: Saturday, Dec. 2

The Wisconsin Family Connections Center and PIK Photography will be partnering to host a photography workshop for teens from      10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2 at the Mitchell Park Domes, 524 S. Layton Blvd. Teens will learn the basics of photography from an instructor with assistance from their parents and guardians. Registration is required. More information here.
