1. Crossroads Kitchen Volunteer Sign-up: Monday, Jan. 15

In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Crossroads Kitchen is seeking volunteers to help serve hot meals from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 15 at 931 W. Madison St. Click here to sign up. More information here.

2. Beloved Community Day 2024: Monday, Jan. 15

Ubuntu Research & Evaluation will celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day with a “Beloved Community Day” from 10 a.m. to noon on Monday, Jan. 15 at The Table, 5305 W. Capitol Drive. This free event is meant to build community and create memories, while embracing  King’s vision. Food will also be provided. More information here.

3. Masculine Monday Fellowships: Monday, Jan.15

Every Monday in January, Black men will gather on the third floor of Running Rebels Community Organization, 1300 W. Fond du Lac Ave., for a session led by Mike Taylor that will include open conversations and healthy practices for healing. The next session is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 15. 4. Third Thursday Networking: Thursday, Jan.18

Join the Wisconsin Black Chamber of Commerce for its “Third Thursday Networking” event from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18 at Turning Tables, 1034 N. Vel R. Phillips Ave. The event will feature food, networking, entertainment and a pitch competition in which the winners will compete for up to $20,000 in prizes at the Black and Diverse Business Showcase in December. 5. Growing and Thriving Workshop – Spanish: Thursday, Jan. 18

“Growing and Thriving Workshop” is a free event where adults 60 and older can learn the history of the Mitchell Park Domes Horticultural Conservatory. Participants will also have the opportunity to choose their own plant to care for. The next workshop will be held from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 18 at 524 S.
