1. Pitch Black: Monday, May 13 

If you are a Black entrepreneur or professional, MKE Black Inc. invites you to attend a session on government contracts. You can learn how to find and qualify for lucrative government contracts. This session will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, May 13 at Coffee Makes You Black, 2803 N. Teutonia Ave. More information here.

2. Ask a Lawyer: Tuesday, May 14

Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee holds office hours for people in need of legal assistance with housing, estate planning and other matters. The next session will be led by attorney Anthony Garcia from 9:30 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, May 14 at the Dominican Center, 2470 W. Locust St. More information here.

3. Health Club: Tuesday, May 14

Independence First will host a workshop for people with disabilities that will focus on creating healthy habits through self-care, nutrition and more. 4. Crime and Safety Meeting: Wednesday, May 15

The Milwaukee Police Department District 2 will hold a crime and safety meeting at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15 at 906 W. Historic Mitchell St. Residents will have the opportunity to ask questions and hear neighborhood updates. More information here. 

5. The Entrepreneur Connection: Wednesday, May 15

Entrepreneurs will have the chance to pitch their business products to the Kohl’s Supplier Diversity team at The Entrepreneurship Connection. Winners of the pitch competition will be invited to attend Kohl’s supplier expo event in June. The pitching will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15 at the Greater Milwaukee Urban League, 435 W. North Ave. Registration is mandatory. More information here. 

Bonus: Hiring Event: Tuesday, May 14

Employ Milwaukee will hold a Social & Human Services Hiring Event from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14 at 2342 N. 27th St. On-the-spot interviews will be conducted for a variety of social and human service positions.
