1. “Brat with a Cop”: Monday, May 20
The Milwaukee Police Department will host “Brat with a Cop” from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday, May 20 at Butterfly Park, 3717 W. Meinecke Ave. The event will begin with Mayor Cavalier Johnson leading a walk through the Metcalfe Park neighborhood. Enjoy food, music, ice cream and more. The activities will kick off the city’s second annual MKE Peace Week (May 22-26), an initiative launched by the mayor to promote peace, unity and community engagement in Milwaukee’s neighborhoods. 2. Automata Machine Workshop for Teens: Monday, May 20
The Milwaukee Public Library Mitchell Street Branch invites teens to an automata machine workshop from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, May 20 at 906 W. Historic Mitchell St. Teens will create moving characters and design an automata machine with cardboard. More information here.
3. Metcalfe Park Sewing Workshop: Tuesday, May 21
Art, Joy & Culture Studio leads creative workshops every Tuesday from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at 3624 W. North Ave. For May, participants will work on sewing and making adjustments. You can bring your own fabric to alter or use the provided fabric. You will also have the opportunity to try your hand at art. The next workshop is Tuesday, May 21. More information here.
4. Listen and Share: Session for Food Truck Operators Wednesday, May 22
The City of Milwaukee Common Council and other departments invite food truck operators to a listening and sharing session. Attendees will have the chance to share their experiences with elected officials. The session will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 22 at Zòcalo Food Park, 636 S. 5. Healing in Nature: Thursday, May 23
Join Havenwoods State Forest for a nature walk and family friendly activities to improve your well-being and familiarity with the natural environment. The event will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, May 23 at 6141 N. Hopkins St. Check-in is at 5:30 p.m. A meal will be served. Click here to register. More information here.
