It’s Monday in Milwaukee, and here are some things we think you should know about. If you would like your event to be considered for this column, please submit your news by clicking here at least two weeks in advance.

1. Dawah Center Food Pantry: Monday, July 1

The Milwaukee Islamic Dawah Center will be distributing food from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Monday, July 1 at 5135 N. Teutonia Ave. Upon your arrival, be sure to have an ID and a box or bag to put food items in. Click here to RSVP. More information here.

2. Pizza Gardens at Zablocki: Tuesday, July 2 

Teens are invited to plant their own pizza garden from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2 at the Milwaukee Public Library Zablocki Branch, 3501 W. Oklahoma Ave. Starter pots and seeds will be provided. More information here. 

3. Budding Botanists: Wednesday, July 3 

If you are a plant enthusiast, join Independence First for a hands-on workshop from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, July 3 at 540 S. First St. The workshop will teach individuals with special needs how to care for plants and make gardening more accessible. 4. The Tasty Roll: Thursday, July 4

Join Red Bike & Green-Milwaukee for its weekly bike ride through the Lindsay Heights neighborhood on Thursday, July 4 at 5:30 p.m. The ride will begin at the Taste of Lindsay Heights, 1617 W. North Ave. You can purchase refreshments there as well.  More information here.

5. Celebrate the Fourth Milwaukee: Thursday, July 4

The City of Milwaukee Fourth of July Commission is sponsoring a day filled with parades, games and fireworks on Thursday, July 4. These festivities will be located at various parks on Milwaukee’s North and South sides. Be sure to view the chart for varying times and locations. More information here.
