1. A Walk in the Park: Friday, July 5

Join the Milwaukee Parks Foundation for a walk designed to promote neighborhood connections and a closer connection with nature. The walks take place every first Friday of the month.  The next walk is at noon on Friday, July 5 between South 51st Street and Kinnickinnic River Parkway. More information here. 

2. Hip Hop Chess Club: Friday, July 5 

Your Move MKE teaches youths how to play chess while learning different musical techniques as part of its Hip Hop Chess Club. The group will hold its next hip-hop chess session from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 5 at 1107 W. Historic Mitchell St. Registration is required. More information here.

3. Gentle Chair Yoga at Zablocki: Friday, July 5

Adults are invited to participate in gentle chair yoga at the Milwaukee Public Library Zablocki Branch, 3501 W. Oklahoma Ave. The free class will teach you chair poses and low-impact standing. The next session will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 5. Participants are asked to wear comfortable shoes and attire. More information here. 

4. Sunday Brunch Afrobeats vs. R&B: Sunday, July 7 

Sunday brunch is hosted every Sunday at Coffee Makes You Black, 2803 N. Teutonia Ave. The next one is from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, July 7 and will feature R&B and Afrobeats played by different DJs. More information here. 

5. Men’s Basketball: Sunday, July 7 

Every Sunday, men from City of Light Church gather to play basketball from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The next basketball meet is Sunday, July 7 at 3801 N. 88th St. All are welcome. More information here.
