1. Plastic-Free MKE Appreciation Party: Saturday, Aug. 3
Join Plastic-Free MKE for an appreciation party from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3 at Pulaski Park, 2677 S. 16th St. The purpose is to show gratitude toward volunteers, businesses and partners who have contributed to the organization. 2. Stop the Violence Peace Rally at Caribbean Festival: Saturday, Aug. 3
El Conquistador Latino Newspaper will be hosting a peace rally from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3 between South Fourth Street and West National Avenue. Free resources include gun locks and Narcan. You will also get to discuss topics, such as crime prevention, health and more. More information here.
3. Summer Celebration Health Fair: Saturday, Aug. 3
A community health fair at the Midtown Clinic-Children’s Wisconsin will be from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3 at 5433 W. Fond du Lac Ave. This family-friendly event will include a school supplies giveaway, resources, immunizations, lead testing, food and entertainment. More information here.
4. West Vliet Street Sidewalk Sale: Saturday, Aug. 3
Businesses and restaurants between North 42nd and 60th streets on West Vliet Street, will be offering special deals for back-to-school, the fall season and upcoming holidays. The events take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3. More information here.
5. 414Flea Summer Series: Sunday, Aug. 4
You can purchase vintage items at vendor tables at the 414Flea marketplace, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 4 at 636 S. Sixth St. Food trucks and handcrafted cocktails will be available. Click here if you are interested in becoming a vendor. More information here.
