Itโ€™s Monday in Milwaukee, and here are some things we think you should know about. If you would like your event to be considered for this column, please submit your news by clicking here at least two weeks in advance.

1. Merrill Park Neighborhood Meeting: Monday, Aug. 12

Merrill Park will hold its monthly neighborhood meeting from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12 at 222 N. 33rd St. Residents will discuss how to improve the neighborhood. Feel free to bring your own snacks. More information here.

2. District 2 Southside National Night Out: Tuesday, Aug. 13

The Milwaukee Police Department District 2 invites you to National Night Out. This family-friendly event will have activities, food and resources from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13 at Pulaski Park, 2677 S. 16th St. More information here. 

3. Amani Outreach Day: Tuesday, Aug. 13 

Receive free resources and food during the Amani Outreach Day from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13 between West Burleigh and North 27th streets. If you run an organization or business that serves the Amani neighborhood, feel free to bring your own equipment to be a part of the resource fair. More information here.

4. Musekgo Way Mobile Food Pantry: Thursday, Aug. 15

Muskego Way Forward and Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin have collaborated to provide a free mobile food pantry to Muskego Way residents. The mobile pantry will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15 in the parking lot at 1414 S. Comstock Ave. If you want to do a walk up, enter on West Bow Street. More information here.

5. Family Skate Night: Thursday, Aug. 15 

The Northwest Side Community Development Corp. will host its third annual family skate night from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 15 at 4350 N. 35th St. Milwaukee Recreation is sponsoring a skate van to provide children and adults with free roller skates. There will be music and free food on a first-come, first-served basis. Be sure to wear socks and bring water. Click here to RSVP. More information here.

Bonus: Knot Just Knitting at Good Hope: Monday, Aug. 12

Join the Milwaukee Public Library Good Hope Branch for arts and crafts from 5:30 pm. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12 at 7715 W. Good Hope Road. Sessions are held the second and fourth Monday of each month and are open to beginners and experts, ranging from teens to older adults.  Knitting, crochet, tatting, sewing, or other fiber-related projects are welcome. Feel free to bring your own supplies.  More information here.
