1. Fruition MKE Digital Creatives Networking Event: Tuesday, Aug. 20
Fruition MKE invites all graphic designers to connect, listen to experts and discuss topics related to the design industry. This will be from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at 825 N. 27th St. Admission is free and refreshments will be available for purchase. Registration is required. More information here.
2. Bookkeeping Bootcamp: Tuesday, Aug. 20
Accountant Latanza Parnell will lead a Bookkeeping Bootcamp from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 20 at Sherman Phoenix Marketplace, 3536 W. Fond du Lac Ave. During the boot camp, you will learn bookkeeping skills to help with managing business finances. Click here to RSVP. More information here.
3. Vision Clinic: Wednesday, Aug. 21
Stop by City on a Hill to receive a free monthly vision screening and eyeglasses. Screenings are from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 2224 W. Kilbourn Ave. More information here.
4. Candela Wednesdays: Wednesday, Aug. 21
Every Wednesday, Daync Academy hosts a Latin night that is free and open to the public. You can come salsa, bachata and more from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 636 S. Sixth St. More information here.
5. Voces de la Frontera Citizenship Classes: Wednesday, Aug. 21
Voces de la Frontera will offer citizenship classes for the English exam from 4:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at the Milwaukee Public Library Mitchell Street Branch, 906 W. Historic Mitchell St. The classes, offered in English and Spanish, are for individuals who have at least five years of residency or three years as a permanent resident or is married to a U.S. citizen. The MKE Black Theatre Festival has returned for its third year. The three-week celebration of Black arts and culture runs through Sunday, Aug. 25, and features ticketed and free events, including three full productions, a staged reading, a masterclass, auditions and more.
