1. Clean Up & Movie Night: Friday, Aug. 30
The Milwaukee Police Department District 2 and the City of Milwaukee invite residents to a cleanup and movie night on Friday, Aug. 30 at 6 p.m. at Arlington Heights Park, 3429 W. Pierce St. Attendees can enjoy free snacks and drinks as they watch “The Garfield Movie.” Wear your best Garfield costume for a chance to win a prize. More information here.
2. Pet Party: Friday, Aug. 30
A pet party will be held from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30 at the Zócalo Food Truck Park, 636 S. Sixth St. There will be pet vendors, live music and more. Feel free to bring your dogs or cats. More information here.
3. Hip-Hop Hangouts Summer Bash: Friday, Aug. 30
Your Move MKE Inc. will provide children with a backpack, school supplies and resources from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30 at 1107 W. Historic Mitchell St. Enjoy free food, live performances and more. More information here.
4. Resume Re-charge: Friday, Aug. 30
Adults are invited to create a resume from 11 a.m. to 12:01 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 30 at the Milwaukee Public Library Washington Park Branch, 2121 N. Sherman Blvd. You will get to write a cover letter and learn interviewing tips. Make sure you come with a list of all your previous jobs. More information here.
5. Summer Sunset Block Party: Saturday, Aug. 31
Kuumba Juice & Coffee and MKE Black are partnering to host a block party from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 31. It will be held between West Keefe Avenue and Nash Street on North Richards Street. There will be food trucks, vendors and activities. More information here.

Near West Side Partners has partnered with Healthy MKE to identify the most critical health needs facing the community through a Health Needs Survey. Residents are encouraged to take this brief survey to help guide local health initiatives to improve overall community well-being.
