Black men from across the city gathered on Aug. 27 to discuss the importance and nuances of voting. 

The Real Men Vote event, hosted by 100 Black Men of Milwaukee Inc., featured panelists from across the city and conversations with the audience.

The event was held in partnership with the Milwaukee Urban League, Milwaukee Area Technical College, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and Great Lakes Urban Empowerment.

Discussions covered such topics as why voting is important, political accountability and community responsibility.

PrincessSafiya Byers was born and raised in Milwaukee, and is a 2020 graduate of Marquette University, majoring in Journalism and Africana Studies.
