1. 2024 Youth Drug Prevention Summit: Friday, Sept. 20
Safe & Sound Inc. will host a youth drug prevention summit from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20 at 2000 W. Kilbourn Ave. This event is free and open to parents and youths ages 12 to 18. Attendees will learn about the mistreatment of opioids, engage in a mindfulness workshop and other activities. Refreshments will be served. More information here.
2. Valley Trivia Night: Friday, Sept. 20
Join Menomonee Valley Partners for a trivia night from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20 at MOTOR Bar and Restaurant, 400 W. Canal St. The event will celebrate the progress of the Menomonee River Valley neighborhood over the past 25 years. You will be tested on how much you know about the neighborhood. Trivia is a dollar per person or you can have up to six people on a team. More information here.
3. Young Professionals Mixer: Saturday, Sept. 21
Join the Greater Milwaukee Urban League Youth Professionals and Bronzeville Kitchen & Lounge for a young professionals mixer from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 2053 N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. This is your chance to network and unwind with like-minded professionals over food, drinks and music. More information here.
4. Support young entrepreneurs: Saturday, Sept. 21
Community members are invited to attend a children’s entrepreneurship event called, “Active Generation,” at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 1920 W. Mitchell St. You can support young entrepreneurs by purchasing food, jewelry, handmade drawings and more. More information here.
5. Walnut Way Harvest Day: Saturday, Sept. 21
Walnut Way Conservation Corp. invites you to its annual Harvest Day to wrap up the growing season for urban farmers. It will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21 at Clarence & Cleopatra Johnson Park, 1919 W. Fond du Lac Ave. Festivities will include food, music, resources and vendors.
