There are plenty of free family-friendly events to celebrate Halloween in Milwaukee, including official trick-or-treating hours from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27.

District 2 Trunk N Treat: Friday, Oct. 18

The Milwaukee Police Department District 2 Trunk N Treat will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 18. The event, at 2137 W. Greenfield Ave., will be hosted with community partners Safe & Sound, Clarke Square Neighborhood Initiative and Christ-St. Peter Lutheran School. In addition to candy, there will be face painting, bouncy house, prizes, food and more. More information here.

VIAโ€™s Spooktacular Day: Saturday, Oct. 19

Decorate a pumpkin and participate in interactive activities at VIAโ€™s Spooktacular Day from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19. Presented by Masterson Foods and the Ethnic & Diverse Business Coalition, this event will take place at Arlington Heights Park, 3429 W. Pierce St. It will also include trick-or-treating, food trucks, resources and a costume contest with three age categories: those 5 years old and younger; 6 to 12 years old; and 13 to18 years old. Amani Active Street Safe Trick-or-Treat and Harvest Fest: Saturday, Oct. 19

Dominican Center and Amani United will hold a harvest fest from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 19 at 26th Street between Locust and Burleigh streets. The event will feature face painting, pony rides, a petting zoo and trick-or-treating. The event will be moved to Sunday, Oct. 20 if it rains. More information here.ย 

Sherman Phoenix Trunk or Treat: Sunday, Oct 20

Visit Sherman Phoenix Marketplace, 3536 W. Fond du Lac Ave., for a trunk or treat with horses and games from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 20. Sherman Phoenix is partnering with Milwaukee Police Department District 7โ€™s Haunted Station event, which will be held at the same time at 3626 W. Fond du Lac Ave. More information here.

District 6 Trunk or Treat: Wednesday, Oct. 23

Join Milwaukee Police Department District 6 and Historic Highway 41 for a trunk or treat with games and door prizes from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at Wilson Senior Center, 2601 W. Howard Ave. More information here.

District 2 Haunted House: Friday, Oct. 25

Milwaukee Police Department District 2 and Safe & Sound are hosting a haunted house at 6 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 25 at 245 W. Lincoln Ave. Come for music, games, a costume contest and a coat and hat giveaway. More information here.

Trick or Treat at Latino Family Expo and Festival: Saturday, Oct. 26

The Latino Family Expo and Festival will provide free and safe indoor trick-or-treating for kids 12 and under from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26 at South Division High School, 1515 W. Lapham Blvd. The 13th annual festival will feature live entertainment and community resources, such as Latino cultural exhibits, a health, education and job fair and various workshops. Autumn Celebration in Washington Park: Saturday, Oct. 26

The Urban Ecology Center Washington Park location is celebrating autumn with festivities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26 at the Washington Park Pool House, 4023 W. Galena St. There will be park activities like hiking and biking as well as pumpkin carving, face painting, trick-or-treating and more. Registration is not required. More information here.ย 

Autumn Celebration at Havenwoods State Forest: Saturday, Oct. 26

Join the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and the Friends of Havenwoods State Forest for an autumn celebration from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26 at Havenwoods State Forest, 6141 N. Hopkins St.  The event will feature different scheduled events, including an animal meet and greet, a drum circle, a Dia de Los Muertos craft program and a candlelight hike. More information here

Sherman Park Harvest Fest: Saturday, Oct. 26

From 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 26, join Milwaukee County Board Chairwoman Marcelia Nicholson and sponsoring groups for the third annual Harvest Fest in Sherman Park, 3000 N. Sherman Blvd. The afternoon will feature trick-or-treating, music, raffle prizes, resource and vendor booths, food and more. More information here.

Trunk or Treat: Itโ€™s About Our Children and Community: Sunday, Oct. 27 

Join the Northcott Neighborhood House, Bader Philanthropies and WestCare Wisconsin for a community trunk or treat from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 27. The event will take place on Wright Street between 6th Street and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Free treat bags, bouncy houses, vendors, community resources and more will be available. Resource Fair & Trick-or-Treating at Kosciuszko Community Center: Thursday, Oct. 31

Trick or treat, participate in a costume contest and get community resources at this free event from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 31 in the gym of Kosciuszko Community Center, 2201 S. Seventh St. More information here.

Halloween, Diwali and Day of the Dead Celebration at Journey House: Friday, Nov. 1

Celebrate the holidays of Halloween (Oct. 31), Diwali (Nov. 1) and Day of the Dead (Nov. 1-2) by attending a multicultural event from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Journey House, 2110 W. Scott St. The event is open to the public and attendees are asked to bring IDs. Anyone age 17 or younger needs to be accompanied by an adult, who is 22 or older. More information here.
