It’s Friday in Milwaukee, and here are some things we think you should know about. If you would like your event to be considered for this column, please submit your news by clicking here at least two weeks in advance.

1. Cook and Conversation: Friday, Feb. 21

If you are a beginner interested in cooking, Owen’s Place will be leading a cooking class from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 21 at 504 W. National Ave. More information here.

2. Youth Job Fair and Basketball Game: Saturday, Feb. 22

A youth job fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 6680 N. Teutonia Ave. Afterward, the Milwaukee Police Department and the Office of Community Wellness and Safety will compete in a basketball game. More information here.

3. Chili Cook-off: Saturday, Feb. 22

The Kinnickinnic River Neighbors in Action will gather for its fifth annual chili cook-off from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 2677 S. 16th St. You will get to try different chili and cast a vote, so winners can win a prize. To enter  the contest, registration is required. More information here.

4. Urban Indigenous League One Year Anniversary:  Saturday, Feb. 22

The Urban Indigenous League will be celebrating its one year anniversary with a self-love event from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 5233 W. Morgan Ave. There will  be games, food, giveaways and more.  More information here. 5. Grocery Giveaway: Saturday, Feb. 22

Dream Team United WI Inc. is partnering with local organizations to do a free grocery giveaway that is open to the public from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 9155 N. 76th St. More information here.
