It’s Monday in Milwaukee, and here are some things we think you should know about. If you would like your event to be considered for this column, please submit your news by clicking here at least two weeks in advance.

1. 414 Day Community Meet and Greet: Monday, April 14

King Hall and Developing Youth Inc. invite Milwaukeeans to an evening of celebrating 414 Day from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Monday, April 14 at King Hall, 3413 N. Martin Luther King Drive. There will be a line dance session for $10, fun activities, networking opportunities, vendors and more. More information here.

2. Muskego Way Forward Neighborhood Meeting: Monday, April 14

The Muskego Way neighborhood will have its monthly meeting from 4:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, April 14 at 1717 W. Mitchell St. Residents will discuss safety, youth enrichment and more. More information here.

3. Food for Thought Poetry Night: Tuesday, April 15

Poets and community members are welcome to attend a poetry night from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15 at 838 S. First St. The event will feature open mic, poets, local vendors, soul food and more. Performing artists will need to sign up upon arrival. Tickets are $5 and seating is first come, first served. 4. Merrill Park Neighbors Potluck Dinner: Tuesday, April 15

Merrill Park residents are welcome to join Merrill Park Neighbors in a potluck dinner from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15 at 801 N. 27th St. This is your chance to meet and socialize with neighbors. Feel free to bring a dish. More information here.

5. Public Listening Session: Wednesday, April 16

There will be a public listening session about plans for policing in Milwaukee from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16 at 540 S. First St. by the Community Collaborative Commission. Representatives from the Wisconsin Policy Forum, Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission and other departments will hear your opinions and questions about the plans.
