1. DJ Krum at Zócalo: Friday, May 23
DJ Krum will be performing on a stage at Zócalo from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday, May 23 at 636 S. Sixth St. His music will blend different genres like hip-hop, reggaeton and more. More information here.
2. GWML Season Finale: Friday, May 23
Grace Weber’s Music Lab invites teens ages 13 to 18 to its season finale and open house from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 23 at Radio Milwaukee, 158 S. Barclay St. Teens will have the chance to perform in an open mic and meet GWML alum. If interested in attending the teen social hour, it will begin at 4 p.m. with free food and a Summerfest ticket giveaway. Registration is required. More information here.
3. Big Dumpster Clean Up: Saturday, May 24
Muskego Way Forward is seeking volunteers and neighbors to dump garbage for its next big neighborhood cleanup from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 24 at Restaurant y Taqueria La Esperanza, 2028 W. Mitchell St. All ages are welcome and can feel free to bring their own snack or drink. Click here to register. More information here.
4. Sundaes on Sunday: Sunday, May 25
The Milwaukee Police Department partners with Sentry Foods and Cedar Crest Ice Cream each month to give away free sundaes to community members and hear feedback from them regarding important issues. The next gathering will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 25 at the Sentry Foods store at 7101 W. Lisbon Ave. More information here.
5. George Floyd Day Block Party: Sunday, May 25
The Milwaukee Alliance Against Racist & Political Repression is hosting a block party in honor of George Floyd from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, May 25 at All Peoples Gathering Church, 2600 N. Second St. There will be rallies, marches, children’s activities and food. More information here.
