It’s Friday in Milwaukee, and here are some things we think you should know about. If you would like your event to be considered for this column, please submit your news by clicking here at least two weeks in advance.

1. Promise Zone Bike Ride: Saturday, June 7 

The Northwest Side Community Development Corp. has partnered with other organizations to host the eighth annual Promise Zone Bike Ride. The ride will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 7 in Garden Homes Park, 2600 N. Atkinson Ave. Bikes are limited, so you are encouraged to bring your own. In addition, there will be free bike repairs from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. along with T T-shirts, snacks and prizes. Come with a helmet and closed-toed shoes. Click here to register. 2. Third Annual Men’s Wellness Day: Saturday, June 7 

Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin will host its third annual Men’s Wellness Day from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 7 at 5370 W. Fond du Lac Ave. Men will have the opportunity to participate in self-care activities like getting a manicure, massage, haircut and engaging discussions. Click here to register. 3. June in Bloom BBQ: Saturday, June 7 

The Native Wellness Garden invites community members to a barbecue to celebrate the laying down of its first seeds. The barbecue is from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, June 7 at 3780 S. Sixth St. Activities during this cookout include garden crafts, a food demonstration and a mint plant giveaway. More information here. 

4. What’s the Tea Sis: Sunday, June 8 

HoneyBee Sage Wellness invites women to a networking event from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, June 8 at its Wellness and Apothecary Cafe, 1819 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Women will meet entrepreneurs, listen to a presentation and empower others. Tickets are $10 and registration is required. Refreshments will be provided. More information here. 

5. Annual National Puerto Rican Day Festival: Sunday, June 8 

In honor of National Puerto Rican Day, El Conquistador Latino Newspaper invites residents to a festival from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday, June 8 at Mitchell Park, 524 S. Layton Blvd. Attendees will enjoy traditional music, a parade, food and drinks. More information here.
