On Tuesday, May 20, Carmen Schools of Science and Technology hosted its highly anticipated Senior Signing Day 2025 at the UW-Milwaukee Panther Arena, honoring over 250 seniors and their postsecondary commitments.  The event brought together more than 2,000 students, staff, families, and community partners to celebrate the accomplishments and futures of Carmen’s graduating seniors.

The event marked Carmen’s largest annual gathering—a big-energy, all-campus celebration celebrating seniors from Carmen Northwest, Carmen Southeast, and Carmen South High Schools. The ceremony featured student musical performances from traditional drumline to mariachi and banda as well as student, staff, and alumni recognitions, and speeches from local leaders. The Class of 2025, made up of 260 students, was celebrated for collectively earning nearly $30 million in scholarships to support their continued education.

Serving as Master of Ceremonies was Latrice Harris, Acting Director of Black Student Initiatives at Marquette University, whose inspirational presence set the tone for the event. Carmen Schools CEO Aaron Lippman addressed the Class of 2025 with hope and pride. “This is your moment. You’ve earned it.  You’ve worked for it.  We believe in your unlimited potential and today we honor all of you.  Class of 2025, you are the reason we are all here.  You are the future leaders, innovators, creators, and change makers and we are so very proud of you!”

A special highlight of the day was the appearance of Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley, who addressed the graduating class with a powerful and personal message—both as a civic leader and recent graduate of UW-Milwaukee. His words deeply resonated with students preparing to launch into college, careers, military service, the trades, and beyond. “As you step into this next chapter, I want you to know that you are not alone. There are people in this room who want to support you. Your community stands behind you, and your future holds endless possibilities. But I also want you to remember this: Be bold enough to lead, humble enough to keep learning, and proud enough to keep chasing the life that lights a fire within you—because the world needs you. The world needs your voice. The world needs your vision. The world needs your courage.”

The event also underscored Carmen’s continued partnership with the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, which has sponsored Senior Signing Day since its inception in 2022. Hosting the event at UWM’s Panther Arena reinforces a shared commitment to increasing college access and success for Milwaukee youth.
