1. Listen and Learn Tour: Monday, July 28
Milwaukee Public Schools students, families, staff and community members are invited to join MPS Superintendent Brenda Cassellius at a listening session at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 28 at Congress Public School, 5225 W. Lincoln Creek Drive. You have the chance to share ideas and ask questions. Click here to register. Refreshments will be provided. Listening sessions will also be held on Tuesday and Wednesday at different Milwaukee Public Schools. More information here.
2. Marketing in a Digital World: Monday, July 28
If you are an entrepreneur interested in building stronger marketing strategies, there will be a session from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, July 28 at the Sherman Phoenix Marketplace, 3536 W. Fond du Lac Ave. Topics include branding, digital platforms and other marketing strategies. Registration is required. More information here.
3. Zumba Class for Older Adults: Monday, July 28
You can join County Executive David Crowley in a free Zumba class from noon to 1 p.m. on Monday, July 28 at the Clinton Rose Senior Center, 3045 N. Martin Luther King Drive. As part of the Milwaukee Turners’ Community Wellness series, you will learn Latin music and cardio dance moves. The class is open to all ages. More information here.
4. Drop-in ESL Tutoring for Adults and Teens: Tuesday, July 29
If you are a teen or adult in need of improving your English skills, ESL tutors will be available from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29 at the Milwaukee Public Library Mitchell Street Branch, 906 W. Historic Mitchell St. You can receive help with reading, writing, listening and speaking. More information here.
5. Early Morning Bird Walk at Menomonee Valley: Tuesday, July 29
The Urban Ecology Center in Menomonee Valley invites you to an early morning bird walk from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29 at 3700 W. Pierce St. You will get to watch birds while exploring the park. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required. More information here.
Bonus: Fresh Press: Wednesday, July 30
Fresh Press is a pop-up led by Goodwill Thrift Studios where individuals can screen print a thrifted tee with original artwork by Milwaukee artist Nehemiah Edwards and modify it. The screen printing will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30 at Peck Pavilion, 929 N. Water St. To screen print a shirt, attendees must follow @GoodwillGreaterMC on Instagram or Facebook.
