1. Bread Distribution: Friday, Aug. 15
Live Laugh Loaves MKE will hand out free bread to residents from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 15 at the corner of West Oklahoma Avenue and South 54th Street. More information here.
2. PEARLS Block Party: Friday, Aug. 15
PEARLS for Teen Girls is hosting a block party from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 15 at ThriveOn King, 2153 N. Martin Luther King Drive. You can enjoy music by DJ Gemini, a bounce house, games, raffles and backpack giveaway. Tickets are free. More information here.
3. Center Street Daze Festival: Saturday, Aug. 16
Center Street Daze Festival is a family-friendly event that will feature over 100 vendors, food and activities from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16 on East Center Street between North Humboldt Boulevard and North Holton Street. More information here.
4. Fueling Our Future: Saturday, Aug. 16
WJMR Jammin’ 98.3, Sentry Foods and the Hunger Task Force are partnering to host a drop-off food event. Community members are encouraged to donate breakfast items so no child starts the day off hungry. Donations will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16 at 7101 W. 5. Meet Your Elected Officials: Saturday, Aug. 16
Assembly District 9 invites you to a community picnic from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 16 in picnic area 9 at Jackson Park, 3500 W. Forest Home Ave. You will meet Rep. Priscilla A. Prado and Sen. Tim Carpenter of Senate District 3. Other guests include the Milwaukee Police Department District 6 and Milwaukee Fire Department.
