It’s Monday in Milwaukee, and here are some things we think you should know about. If you would like your event to be considered for this column, please submit your news by clicking here at least two weeks in advance.

 1. Intro to 3D Printing: Tuesday, Sept. 23

People with disabilities have the opportunity to join a weekly group session that explores 3D printing fundamentals, has hands-on training and offers a chance to earn a certificate. The next session is from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at Independence First, 540 S. 2. Public Involvement Meeting: Tuesday, Sept. 23

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation is proposing to replace the pavement on two miles of state Highway 32 on Prospect and Farwell avenues from East Wells Street to North Lake Drive. A public meeting for the project will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at the Wisconsin Conservatory of Music, 1584 N. Prospect Ave. Attendees can learn more about the project, give their input and ask questions. More information here.

3. Food for Thought Poetry: Tuesday, Sept. 23

Poets and community members are welcome to attend a poetry night from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 23 at Freight 38, 838 S. First St. Hosted by Lature and DJ Gid Money, the event will feature an open mic, poets, local vendors, soul food and more. Performing artists will need to sign up upon arrival. Tickets are $5 and seating is first come, first served. More information here.

4. September Women’s Gathering: Wednesday, Sept. 24

Circles of Strength is a program that offers a space and provides services for individuals who are experiencing or have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault and more. A women’s gathering will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at the Gerald L. Ignace Indian Health Center, 930 W. Historic Mitchell St. Women 18 and up will reflect on moments that shaped their lives and write letters. Food will be provided. More information here.

5. Ramen Bowl Class: Wednesday, Sept. 24

Learn how to make a ramen bowl on a pottery wheel from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 24 at Mitchell Street Arts, 710 W. Historic Mitchell St. The class will be led by artist Sam Wolf and is pay what you can. A $20 donation is suggested. Click here to register. More information here.
