The Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Admirals have opened the Ready Center after the former one closed because of flooding. The new space, located at 518 W. Cherry St., will provide hot meals for any teen that comes in and will also be home to the club’s career development, health and wellness, college readiness, leadership and service programs. Officials held a ribbon-cutting program Wednesday for the center.The goal of the space is to help teens achieve a greater future.

Douglas spoke about wanting to create an open concept space so that it would feel like a large family.
Douglas shows the Certified Nursing Assistant skills lab at the Ready Center. Having this lab will save students on average of $1,500 since they will not need to take these courses in college, he said.
