(For adults) Join members of the Land Management team to learn about fire ecology and basic training for prescribed burn participation with Urban Ecology Center.

This program introduces participants—novices and naturalists alike—to the fundamentals of prescribed burning. It provides training on fire behavior, safety protocols, and the ecological benefits of fire, with a strong emphasis on practical experience and safe burn techniques.

Participants will also have the opportunity to pursue training to become volunteer firefighters on the Urban Ecology Center’s prescribed burn crew responsibilities while supporting firing operations.

Time: 8 a.m. –  4:30 p.m.
