1. State of the District: Monday, Dec. 1
Join Rooted & Rising Washington Park, Athena Communications and Ald. Russell Stamper II for a conversation about the future of Washington Park. You will hear updates on the Washington Park Quality of Life Plan, be able to ask questions and listen to city officials from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 1 at the Missing Peace Community Collective, 3248 W. 2. Poetry Tuesdays: Tuesday, Dec. 2
Poets and community members are welcome to attend a poetry night from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2 at Freight 38, 838 S. First St. Hosted by Lature and DJ Gid Money, the event will feature an open mic, poets, local vendors, soul food and more. Performing artists will need to sign up upon arrival. 3. Bilingual Storytime: Wednesday, Dec. 3
Rescued Roasters and Bilingual Storytime MKE are collaborating to host interactive bilingual stories read to children in English and Spanish from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at 4435 W. 4. Career Fair: Wednesday, Dec. 3
Milwaukee Public Schools is hosting its last career fair of the year from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at MPS Central Services, 5225 W. Vliet St. The district is looking for teachers, paraprofessionals, food service managers and other positions. More information here.
5. Crime and Safety Meeting: Wednesday, Dec. 3
Milwaukee Police Department District 5 will host its monthly crime and safety meeting at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 3 at ThriveOn King, 2153 N. Martin Luther King Drive. You will hear neighborhood updates and enjoy coffee and doughnuts. More information here.
