It’s Monday in Milwaukee, and here are some things we think you should know about. If you would like your event to be considered for this column, please submit your news by clicking here at least two weeks in advance.

1. Kozy Community Walks: Tuesday, Dec. 9

Join MilWALKee Walks at the Kosciuszko Community Center, 2201 S. Seventh St., for a walk through Kosciuszko Park from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 9. You will learn about interesting destinations in the Lincoln Village area and chat about streets that make you feel safe or unsafe. More information here.

2. Preparing for a Financial Emergency: Wednesday, Dec. 10

The City of Milwaukee Office of African American Affairs invites you to its financial literacy series that will help you prepare for different financial emergencies. The next session is at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at 4830 W. Fond du Lac Ave. More information here.

3. Renter’s Rights Legal Clinic – Clarke Square: Wednesday, Dec. 10

Staff attorneys from Legal Action of Wisconsin are offering a free clinic to help Clarke Square residents understand their rights as renters. The clinic will have free legal advice on evictions, termination notices and other issues from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 10 at the Sixteenth Street Community Health Center, 1036 S. Cesar E. Chavez Drive. Walk-ins are welcome and it’s first come, first served. More information here

4. Intergenerational Talking Circle: Thursday, Dec. 11

The Missing Peace Community Collective is partnering with local organizations to host an intergenerational talking circle about entrepreneurship from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11  at 3248 W. Brown St. A panelist will be present to lead conversations. All are welcome and food will be provided. More information here.

5. Mobile Food Pantry: Thursday, Dec. 11

Residents are welcome to receive a box filled with meat and produce from the Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin mobile food pantry from 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11 at Auer Avenue School, 2319 W. Auer Ave. More information here
