1. Closing Celebration: Friday, Dec. 12
Join Arts @ Large Inc. in a closing celebration for Whitney Salgado’s Consciousness in Craft residency from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 12 at 1100 S. 5th St. Attendees will honor the gallery by acknowledging its collaborators, showing gratitude, enjoying treats and other activities. 2. Gentle Chair Yoga: Friday, Dec. 12
All ages and fitness levels are welcome to practice gentle chair yoga from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 12 at the Milwaukee Public Library Zablocki Branch, 3501 W. Oklahoma Ave. The session will focus on low-impact standing and chair-assisted poses. Please wear comfortable attire and tennis shoes. Chairs and mats are provided. Registration is preferred. 3. Healthy Futures: Saturday, Dec. 13
Health Connections Inc. is partnering with local organizations to host a health summit helping kids and families fight against childhood obesity. The summit will be from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13 on the third floor of ThriveOn King, 2153 N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. 4. Coffee and Conversation: Saturday, Dec. 13
Join the Milwaukee Police Department District 3 for a free cup of coffee and casual conversation from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 13 at Amaranth Bakery & Cafe, 3329 W. Lisbon Ave. You will discuss issues that matter to you and the community. More information here.
5. Breakfast with Santa: Saturday, Dec. 13
Families can enjoy pancakes, sausage, juice and coffee with Santa from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Dec. 13 at the Kosciuszko Community Center, 2201 S. 7th St. Children will receive a gift bag with a toy and can take a photo with Santa. Tickets are $5 and cash only. They are required to be purchased in advance at the community center. More information here.
