1. Washington Park Movie Night: Friday, Jan. 2
Rooted & Rising will host a free movie night for families from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 2 at 3940 W. Lisbon Ave. Families will watch “The LEGO Movie” and enjoy hot dogs, fresh popcorn and other free snacks. More information here.
2. Strive for Healthy Weight: Friday, Jan. 2
Veterans and employees are welcome to attend a health session focused on managing weight. It will feature a discussion on the benefits of mindfulness and a chair yoga exercise from noon to 12:50 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 2 at the Clement J. Zablocki Veterans’ Administration Medical Center, 5000 W. National Ave. A virtual option is available. More information here.
3. Cowork with Creators: Friday, Jan. 2
HashtagMKE invites creators and social media enthusiasts to a networking event that will give you the opportunity to meet like-minded individuals in Milwaukee. The event is from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 2 at Style Pop Cafe, 934 S. 5th St. Registration is required. More information here.
4. Library Drop-in: Friday, Jan. 2
Children and adults can stop by the Milwaukee Public Library Good Hope Branch, 7715 W. Good Hope Road, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 2 to play crosswords, complete a puzzle and play other games. More information here.
5. Park Rangers at Menomonee Valley: Saturday, Jan. 3
Children and adults can help clean Menomonee Valley Community Park from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3 at 3700 W. Pierce St. You will pick up trash and make note of any maintenance needs. All volunteers are encouraged to dress for the weather. Children younger than 14 must be accompanied by an adult. Registration is required. More information here.
