1. Ask a Lawyer: Friday, Jan. 9
Legal Aid Society of Milwaukee holds office hours for people in need of legal assistance with housing, estate planning and other matters. 2. Open Crafting: Saturday, Jan. 10
Friends of Havenwoods State Forest invites adults to bring a project they are working on and meet other crafters. This open craft session will be from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 10 at 6141 N. Hopkins St. Coffee and tea are provided but feel free to bring other refreshments. More information here.
3. Wisconsin Pardon Information Session: Saturday, Jan. 10
The City of Milwaukee Office of African American Affairs is having a Wisconsin pardon informational session that supports residents with pardon applications and provides guidance, advocacy and other resources. The session will take place from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 10 at 4830 W. Fond du Lac Ave. More information here.
4. Mitchell Park Pozolera: Saturday, Jan. 10
County Supervisor Juan Miguel Martinez is joining local organizations to share pozole and tamales and give away toys at the Mitchell Park Pavillion, 2200 W. Pierce St., from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 10. Organizers are kicking off the new year by celebrating the community. More information here.
5. Mulch-O- Rama: Saturday, Jan. 10
The Garden District Neighborhood Association, Ald. Scott Spiker and the Department of Public Works are collaborating to host the fourth annual tree mulching and nonworking Christmas lights collection from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Jan. 10 in the Farmers Market parking lot between South 6th Street and West Norwich Avenue. Residents can bring their holiday trees to be mulched and Christmas lights will be recycled. More information here.
