It was an over the moon outpouring of Christmas love at the MacCanon Brown Homeless Sanctuary on December 20.

During our event 222 families signed their children and teens up for toys and gifts. A total of 745 children and teens received more than one toy and gift apiece.
Thanks to an extraordinary leadership team and to the many generous donors, both individuals and groups, who contributed toys and gifts!
We appreciate the partnership of Faith Temple Church for providing the initial gathering place; to their Praise Dancers for performing; and for Sandra Cebellos for singing.
Thanks also to Mr. and Mrs. Santa (Barb Shoenherr and Terry Frye).
Thanks to Lily Bells is Fine Dining for Feeding everyone.

We appreciated Mr. and Mrs. Santa (Barb Shoenherr and Terry Frye).

We were honored to welcome Mayor Cavalier Johnson, Dominique Johnson and State Legislator LaTonya Johnson. Also appreciated as speakers were North Sunrise Rotary Club President Jim Milner and Matt Frank of Robertson Ryan.

This was our 9th annual holiday toy and gift distribution

For the past two months, donations have been coming in individually and by the carload—gifts for children from infant to 17 years old. Toys, games, art supplies, sports gears, bikes and trikes, beauty products, and so much more, enough so every child could receive one large and one smaller gift. Parents and caregivers came with relief and gratitude that their children would have presents. More than 60 racially and economically diverse MBHS staff and volunteers worked tirelessly to greet and sign in guests; collect the name, age, and gender of each child; and select and distribute appropriate gifts.

Sister MacCanon Brown, CEO, said during the event. “This is all about abundance, about bringing people into the larger blessings of our society at Christmastime, about people of privilege sharing with people who are less fortunate; about ensuring that families who are accustomed to scarcity celebrate a Christmas.” Our donors, individuals and groups, can be in joy knowing they made such a positive difference.

MBHS Staff member Wanda Booker commented. “What better way to demonstrate God’s love than to give? It is uplifting to see the many families come through and leave happy, with gifts for their children and grandchildren.”

It was a day abounding in Christmas love.

We joined with everyone committed to being a Force for Good in celebrating the spirit of Christmas Love.
