1. Garden Homes Delivering on the Promise: Monday, Jan. 12

Seven years ago, Garden Homes created a community plan to improve the area. Residents are invited to gather and reflect on that plan and establish new goals and priorities from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 12 at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 2433 W. 2. Open Maker Time: Monday, Jan. 12

Children can hang out and engage with their peers over art and technology projects from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 12 at the Milwaukee Public Library Mitchell Street Branch, 906 W. Historic Mitchell St. More information here.

3. Safe Haven Foster Program Info Session: Tuesday, Jan. 13

The Wisconsin Humane Society Milwaukee Campus and Sojourner Family Peace Center are collaborating to temporarily place pets in safe foster homes for families affected by domestic violence. An informational session about the Safe Haven Foster Program will be held from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 13 at 4500 W. Wisconsin Ave. for individuals interested in becoming a Safe Haven foster parent. More information here.

4. Debt Management: Wednesday, Jan. 14

The Milwaukee Office of African American Affairs offers free financial literacy sessions. The next session will focus on debt management. Individuals will learn the reasons for debt, its different types and more at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 14 at 4830 W. Fond du Lac Ave. More information here. 

5. Family Culture Night: Thursday, Jan. 15

Children and caregivers are welcome to come hear the origin story of the Seven Gifts and learn its teachings from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 15 at the Gerald L. Ignace Indian Health Center, 930 W. Historic Mitchell St. More information here.
