1. School Board Meeting: Tuesday, Jan. 20
Youth Empowered in the Struggle wants a clear policy for school resource officers in Milwaukee Public Schools. Students, parents and community members are invited to a Legislation, Rules and Policy Committee meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20 at 5225 W. Vliet St. You will have the chance to speak in support of the policy to protect students from over policing and protection of student rights. More information here.
2. Snack Hack 2.0: Tuesday, Jan. 20
Adults can gain cooking experience by attending Snack Hack 2.0 from 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 20 at the Milwaukee Public Library Mitchell Street Branch, 906 W. Historic Mitchell St. You will learn how food is made, make cultural connections and more. More information here.
3. Career Fair: Wednesday, Jan. 21
Milwaukee Public Schools is hosting a districtwide career fair from 10 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 5225 W. Vliet St. There will be on-site interviews for a variety of positions. More information here.
4. Line Dance: Wednesday, Jan. 21
The Sherman Phoenix Marketplace invites you to a free line dance class from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 3536 W. Fond du Lac Ave. An instructor will lead you no matter your skill level. Attendees are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing. More information here.
5. Mobile Food Pantry: Wednesday, Jan. 21
Residents are welcome to receive a box filled with meat and produce from the Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin mobile food pantry from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at Forest Home Avenue School, 1516 W. Forest Home Ave. More information here.
