2. 7th Annual African American Environmental Pioneer Awards: Monday, Feb. 16
The Northwest Side Community Development Corp. and Nearby Nature Milwaukee are hosting their 7th Annual African American Environmental Pioneer Awards on Monday, Feb. 16. The event celebrates Black community members who have dedicated themselves to work in environmental conservation, sustainability or advocacy in Milwaukee. Network, enjoy a meal and watch the awards ceremony at the Dr. Martin Luther King Community Center, 1531 W. Vliet St., from 4 to 7 p.m. Register here. More information here.
3. Civic Studios Creative Exchange: Tuesday, Feb. 17
Check out “Civic Studios: The Creative Exchange,” its quarterly showcase of emerging projects and creatives shaping Milwaukee’s cultural and creative future. The exchange takes place at 5020 W. Vliet St. at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17. Tickets are free and available here. More information here.
4. Stepping Out Walking Club: Wednesday, Feb. 18
Join adults and older adults for a walk through Washington Park on Wednesday, Feb. 18 from 10:15 to 11:15 a.m. Meet-up location is the Washington Park Branch of the Milwaukee Public Library, 2121 N. Sherman Blvd. More information here.
5. Living History: Gallery of Black Excellence: Thursday, Feb. 19
Head to Neu-Life Community Development’s annual Black history program on Thursday, Feb. 19 to hear youths tell the stories of pioneers of the past and enjoy a complimentary meal from 6 to 8 p.m. at 2014 W. North Ave. Get free tickets here. More information here.
