1. Lit Hour Youth Literacy & Career Day: Tuesday, March 10
Tell young Milwaukee students about your career at the eighth annual Lit Hour Youth Literacy & Career Day. Hosted by Social X MKE, the event will take place at Greater Holy Temple Christian Academy, 5575 N. 76th St., from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10. Register to volunteer your time here. 2. Milwaukee County Transit Reduced Fare Card Event: Tuesday, March 10
Veterans who are eligible for a reduced fare Milwaukee County Transit System (MCTS) card can register for a card if they are over the age of 65 or have a disability under the age of 65. Attendants must bring a Social Security letter indicating a disability, a Veterans disability letter, a copy of a Medicare card or a completed reduced fare application with a valid state ID, driver’s license, passport or alien registration card. Head to Clement J. Zablocki Medical Affairs Medical Center, Building 7, Room 110 at 5000 W. National Ave. on Tuesday, March 10 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. More information here.
3. All Styles Hip-Hop Dance Class: Tuesday, March 10
Join Your Move MKE to move, vibe and have fun at a dance class for youths from 9 to 17. The class will be on Tuesday, March 10 from 5 to 7 p.m. at 1674 S. 11th St. Register here. More information here.
4. Landlord & Property Management Rental Application Event: Wednesday, March 11
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the Milwaukee Rental Housing Resource Center is hosting a rental application event at 728 N. James Lovell St. Local landlords and property managers will be showing off available units during the event on Wednesday, March 11. More information here.
5. All Professions Career Fair: Wednesday, March 11
Looking for a job? On Wednesday, March 11 from 9 a.m. to noon, Superior Career Fairs is hosting a career fair at the Tripoli Shrine Center, 3000 W. Wisconsin Ave. Professions include sales, logistics, health care, skilled trades and more. Bring resumes, dress professionally and register here. More information here.
Bonus event: Friends of Jackson and Manitoba Parks meeting: Tuesday, March 10
Friends of Jackson and Manitoba Parks are featuring Craig Ruhland
of Metro Mountain Bikers at their March 10 meeting from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the
Boathouse in Jackson Park, on the south side of West Kinnickinnic Parkway between South 43rd St. and West Forest Home Ave. During the meeting, residents will break into small teams to address priorities in the community.
