1. A Transportation Building Bonanza: Saturday, March 21
The Milwaukee County Historical Society invites families to a day filled with exploring transportation, including planes, trains, cars and more. The Milwaukee Fire Museum, Dream Bikes and other organizations will be present with displays. Family Day will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 21 at 910 N. Martin Luther King Drive. 2. Intergenerational Dialogue: Saturday, March 21
Running Rebels Community Organization, My Brother’s Keeper Milwaukee and other local organizations are collaborating to lead an intergenerational dialogue about brotherhood and violence prevention. The discussion is from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 21 at 225 W. Capitol Drive. More information here.
3. Home Repair Grant Kickoff: Saturday, March 21
The Harambee Neighborhood Improvement District invites residents to its launch of the Home Repair Grant program from noon to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 21 at Maskani Place Apartments, 320 E. Center St. There will be onsite applications, resources, refreshments and more. More information here.
4. Rain Barrel Workshop: Saturday, March 21
Residents can learn how to install and properly care for a rain barrel from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 21 at the Milwaukee Public Library Mitchell Street Branch, 906 W. Historic Mitchell St. After the workshop, you will receive a free rain garden plant kit. More information here.
5. Park Rangers at Menomonee Valley: Saturday, March 21
Children and adults can help clean Three Bridges Park in the Menomonee Valley from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 21 at 3700 W. Pierce St. You will pick up trash and make note of any maintenance needs. All volunteers are encouraged to dress for the weather. Children younger than 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
