It’s Monday in Milwaukee, and here are some things we think you should know about. If you would like your event to be considered for this column, please submit your news by clicking here at least two weeks in advance.

1. Cutz, Cops and Conversation: Monday, March 30

Owen’s Place and Milwaukee Police Department District 7 are hosting a barbershop-style conversation for youths ages 16 through 24. Free haircuts, hair braiding and food will be available while you engage with law enforcement. The conversation is from 4 to 6 p.m. on Monday, March 30 at 4610 W. 2. MKE State of the City Address: Monday, March 30

Mayor Cavalier Johnson invites residents to a State of the City address to discuss the progress being made in housing and to highlight projects that are thriving in Milwaukee. The conversation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, March 30 at Dr. Howard Fuller Collegiate Academy, 2212 N. Vel R. Phillips Ave. More information here.

3. One MKE Resource Table: Monday, March 30

Teens and adults are welcome to visit the resource table of One MKE to learn more about available community resources and civic engagement. The event will take place from noon to 4 p.m. on Monday, March 30 at the Milwaukee Public Library Mitchell Street Branch, 906 W. Historic Mitchell St. More information here.

4. Ceramic Class: Monday, March 30

Mitchell Street Arts invites you to a ceramics class from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, March 30 at 710 W. Historic Mitchell St. The class will be led by artist Maria de Los Dolores. She will teach the basic techniques of using a pottery wheel. This is a pay-what-you-can class with a $20 suggested donation. Click here to register. More information here.

5. Harambee Neighborhood Improvement DistrictBoard Meeting: Tuesday, March 31

The Harambee Neighborhood Improvement District welcomes you to its monthly board meeting from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31 at the Milwaukee Public Library King Branch, 2901 N. Martin Luther King Drive, or virtually.  Discussions will be about programming, event planning, neighborhood improvement district officers and more. More information here.
