Milwaukee, WI — April 7, 2026 — Jewish Family Services (JFS) today announced the appointment of Dan Fleischman as its new president and chief executive officer, following a comprehensive national search conducted by Leading Transitions.

Fleischman brings more than a decade of service to JFS, where he previously served as vice president of housing and, most recently, as interim president and CEO since July 2025. During his tenure, he has demonstrated a strong commitment to the organization’s mission, leading with clarity, compassion, and strategic vision.

“Dan has proven himself to be an exceptional leader with a deep understanding of our work and the community we serve,” said Jason Steigman, chair of the JFS board of directors. “Throughout his time as Interim CEO, he has made a meaningful impact, and the board is confident in his ability to lead Jewish Family Services into its next chapter.”

Under Fleischman’s leadership, JFS has expanded programs that integrate housing, supportive services, and community engagement. His approach emphasizes that housing is not simply shelter, but a foundation for stability, dignity, and opportunity.

As president and CEO, Fleischman will continue to guide JFS in advancing its core areas of mental health services, social services, and affordable housing, strengthening the organization’s impact across the community.

Jewish Family Services, founded in 1867, provides comprehensive support including counseling and mental health services, case management, and safe, affordable housing. The organization remains committed to serving individuals and families with compassion, dignity, and care.
