1. Quality of Life Celebration and Lisbon Avenue Charette Release: Monday, May 4

Join the City of Milwaukee, Athena Communications and Ce Planning Studio to celebrate the Washington Park Quality of Life Plan on Monday, May 4 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Rooted and Rising, 3940 W. Lisbon Ave. The event will also feature the Lisbon Avenue Charrette release. More information here.

2. Literacy and Library Family Night: Monday, May 4

Explore the library, learn about special resources for special education, bilingual, and English learning students and receive kits for after-school learning at the Mitchell Street Library, 906 W. Historic Mitchell St., from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 4. Register here.

3. Bilingual Story Time with Betty: Wednesday, May 6

Join Señora Betty with Bilingual STORY TIME MKE, to dance, sing and listen to stories at a Mother’s Day-themed bilingual story time at Rescued Roasters, 4435 W. Forest Home Ave. from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6. More information here.

4. Teacher Career Fair: Wednesday, May 6

Looking for a new job? Milwaukee Public Schools is hosting a career fair at Lynde and Harry Bradley Technology and Trade School, 700 S. 4th St. on Wednesday, May 6 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. The district is hiring teachers, paraprofessionals, food service managers and more. More information here.

5. Milwaukee Public Schools Music Festival: Wednesday, May 6 and Thursday, May 7

Listen to music from more than 1,700 student musicians across Milwaukee Public Schools at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panther Arena, 400 W. Kilbourn Ave. at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 6 and Thursday, May 7. The event lasts around 90 minutes. Admission is free. More information here.
