2. Big Truck Day: Saturday, May 16
Trucks, construction and fire engines! Celebrate National Public Works Week by checking out some of Milwaukee’s biggest trucks, meet the people that operate them and costume characters on Saturday, May 16 at Red Arrow Park, 920 N. Water St. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A sensory-friendly hour with no sirens will be available from 1 to 2 p.m. More information here.
3. Garden Fest and Bloom and Groom: Saturday, May 16
Find low-cost plants and learn about gardening resources with the Southside Organizing Center on Saturday, May 16 from 9 a.m. to noon at Walker Square Park, 1031 S. 9th St. More information here.
4. Discover your Story: A Community Storytelling Workshop: Saturday, May 16
Join the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s Neighborhood Dispatch, Milwaukee Public Library and Ex Fabula to learn storytelling skills and how to turn meaningful moments into powerful stories on Saturday, May 16 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Martin Luther King Library Branch, 2903 N. 5. Amani Housing and Economic Development Resource Fair: Saturday, May 16
Learn about homeownership, home repair and employment resources at Dominican Center’s community resource fair on Saturday, May 16 from noon to 2:30 p.m. The fair will take place in the Dominican Center parking lot, 2470 W. Locust St. More information here.
