1. Bembé Bombazo: Friday, Nov. 22
Bembé Drum & Dance invites you to an evening filled with singing, dancing and drumming, featuring Afro-Puerto Rican traditions. This free community event will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22 at 611 S. Layton Blvd. More information here.
2. Hip Hop Chess Club: Friday, Nov. 22
Your Move MKE Inc. teaches youths how to play chess while learning different musical techniques as part of its Hip Hop Chess Club. The group will hold its next session from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22 at 1107 W. Historic Mitchell St. More information here.
3. Free Live Music at Sherman Perk: Friday, Nov. 22
Enjoy live music performed by Don and Friends Band from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22 at Sherman Perk Coffee Shop, 4924 W. Roosevelt Drive. Refreshments will be available for purchase. More information here.
4. Park Rangers at Menomonee Valley: Saturday, Nov. 23
Children and adults can help clean Menomonee Valley from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23 at 3700 W. Pierce St. You will pick up trash and make note of any maintenance needs. All volunteers are encouraged to dress for the weather. Children under 14 must be accompanied by an adult. More information here.
5. Messy Art: Saturday, Nov. 23
Children ages 5 and up can participate in science experiments that include art from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23 at the Milwaukee Public Library Villard Square Branch, 5190 N. 35th St. Please come dressed to get messy. More information here.
